Flashback: 1992 Pope admits scripture can not be taken literally…

Flashback to November 4, 1992

Pope John Paul II finally vindicates Galileo, who was unjustly imprisoned on charges of heresy in 1633 for claiming the Earth orbited the Sun. Intelligent thinking was squelched by Holy Scripture, stomped out, thrashed and refuted. Galileo was imprisoned for the remainder of his life for only stating what he observed with his telescope. After 350+ years, Pope John Paul II went on to admit that literal interpretation of scripture can be wrong, essentially admitting that the “Word of God” is NOT literally found in the Bible.

Galileo’s Dialogue, advocating heliocentrism in conflict to literal scripture interpretation, heresy!!!

“Thanks to his intuition as a brilliant physicist and by relying on different arguments, Galileo, who practically invented the experimental method, understood why only the sun could function as the centre of the world, as it was then known, that is to say, as a planetary system. The error of the theologians of the time, when they maintained the centrality of the Earth, was to think that our understanding of the physical world’s structure was, in some way, imposed by the literal sense of Sacred Scripture….”
—Pope John Paul II, L’Osservatore Romano N. 44 (1264) -

Religion can only survive inside the ignorant mind, and keeping the flock ignorant has been a trait of successful enduring religions. “Science is heresy … all a person needs to know is already in the Bible”… no need to learn anything, investigate or question … just shut up, accept the sacred dogmatic scripture, stay stupid and tell others they must do the same or go to hell.

Ironically Catholic cleric Nicolaus Copernicus of Poland, who in 1660 described his theory of heliocentrisim…was not imprisoned .. and by 1686 the general public regarded the heliocentric view as being fact … scripture was WRONG, as usual.

Fun with stupid Bible verses, more GodFuckery!  LOL,   curiosity of OpenBible.info:

Isaiah 40:22

It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;

Job 26:7

He stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing.

Job 26:10

He has inscribed a circle on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness

Job 9:7

Who commands the sun, and it does not rise; who seals up the stars;

Genesis 1:1-31

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

Joshua 10:13

And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? The sun stopped in the midst of heaven and did not hurry to set for about a whole day.

Isaiah 38:8

Behold, I will make the shadow cast by the declining sun on the dial of Ahaz turn back ten steps.” So the sun turned back on the dial the ten steps by which it had declined.
